Acrylic One resin

resin AcrylicOne (LP 01) is a two-component material, a mineral powder and an acrylic resin based on water. By mixing the 2 components result in a very resistant product with an "acrylic" surface, which can be poured into diperese shapes or laminated with glass fiber.

Methods of using AcrylicOne resin:

resin Acrylic One (LP 01) can be processed by:

  • casting (in silicone moulds).

  • lamination / brush (with triaxial glass fibre, "bark, peel" objects)

  • spraying (in silicone moulds).

  • application as a final layer of reinforcement over a polystyrene substrate (totally compatible with polystyrene).

  • rotocasting (making objects like "bark, peel" in rotational moulds.

resin AcrylicOne can be mixed with different metallic fillers to get metallic objects (copper, bronze, iron, aluminium) or mineral fillers to get stone / rock-like objects.

Use AcrylicOne resin:

The mixture ratio shall be: 2 parts Acrylic One powder: 1 part Acrylic One liquid. The mixing ratio is based on Weight Parts (weighing, not volume). Weigh precisely the 2 components in 2 different containers.

Mix using a drill and mixer (do not exceed 750 rpm). Insert the mixer into the liquid side container and mix until a vortex is formed. Add gradually during mixing the component powder already weighed until the mixture takes a homogeneous and creamy consistency.

Tools can be cleaned after use, while the resin is still liquid / soft, with water or with water and soap. The term of validity of Acrylic One resin is about 12 months, stored in optimal conditions in the origal packaging. Raina should not be stored at low / negative temperatures, there is danger of freezing.

NOTE: Pigments and Retarder are brought to the liquid side before mixing with powder and should not exceed 2% of the total amount (resin + powder).

Lamination / Brush resin AcrylicOne:

In order to apply Acrylic One resin by lamination (brush) we must bring a thixotropic agent to modify its vascosity (gelling). In mixed mass add Thixotropic agent - drop with drop (within allowed limit) until desired vascosity is obtained.

Brush a minimum layer of 1... 2 mm and expect this layer to reach the consistency of a paste. Over add a layer of triaxial fiber. Over this fiber brush a new layer of resin followed by a new start of triaxial fiber. The procedure is repeated depending on the strength / thickness you want to give the object. The applied final layer will be one of Acrylic One resin.

Casting and removing AcrylicOne resin:

Casting in flexible silicone moulds does not expressly require demoulding agents.

Casting in rigid or flexible polyurethane moulds requires application of a layer of emulsion before casting.

The release is achieved as soon as possible. Acrylic One finding a racian water base water must wait until some of the water evaporates so that the product partially reaches the final characteristics and can be removed. This period under ambient temperature (about 23 ° C) is about 1 hour.

The product must be completely dried before applying pigments / skate / seler for accuracy of results.

Preparation and application

  1. Separately weigh two parts powder and one part liquid.
  2. Start mixing the liquid component with a mixer without exceeding 750 rpm. Gradually add the weighed powder and mix to a uniform consistency, leaving no dry material on the container walls.
  3. For casting, pour the mixture into the mould. At 23 °C, the data sheet specifies 20 minutes of working time and approximately one hour before demoulding.
  4. For laminating or brush application on vertical surfaces, use the appropriate thixotropic additive. The data sheet describes a surface layer at least 2 mm thick, followed by layers of resin and triaxial fibre.
  5. For rigid or flexible polyurethane moulds, apply a suitable release agent. Clean tools immediately after use; do not store the components below 5 °C.

Consult the safety data sheet and batch label before use.
